Boubool is an iPhone application published by Beabita, a sole proprietorship registered with the Belgian Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (BCE) under no. BE 0860.949.927 (Belgium). It was designed so that your health data never leaves your device. This page describes what the app does — and above all what it does not do.

No collection, no server, no account

Boubool has no server, asks for no account and collects no personal data. No information — health-related or otherwise — is transmitted to the publisher or to any third party. The app contains no audience analytics tool, no advertising tracker and no advertising.

The data you enter stays on your iPhone

Injections, side effects, portions, body measurements, nights of sleep, how you feel on waking, hunger, lab results, alcoholic drinks, first name and profile photo are stored only in the app's own storage, on your device. They are included in your iPhone backups according to your iCloud or iTunes settings, as with any app. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Apple Health

With your permission, Boubool reads from Apple Health: weight, body fat, lean mass, waist circumference, height, dietary protein, steps, basal and active energy, resting heart rate, VO2 max, sleep, blood glucose and workouts. It writes back to it whatever you enter in the app that has a Health type: protein, water, weight, waist circumference, height and blood glucose. These exchanges take place entirely on your iPhone. Data read from Apple Health is never used for advertising purposes and is never passed on to anyone, in accordance with Apple's rules. You can withdraw these permissions at any time in Settings › Health › Data Access.

Subscription

The purchase and renewal of Boubool Pro are handled by the App Store, with your Apple Account. Boubool sees neither your Apple Account, nor your payment method, nor your email address: from Apple it receives only the information “subscription active or not”. You manage and cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings.

Notifications

The reminders (injection, workouts, Sunday review, evening recap) are local notifications, scheduled on your iPhone. No remote notification service is used.

Export

The CSV export function creates a file that you choose to share yourself (with your doctor, for example). The publisher has no access to it.

Children

Boubool is intended for adults going through a weight-loss course and is not intended for anyone under the age of 18.

Your rights

As no data is collected by the publisher, there is no data concerning you to consult, correct or delete on our side: everything is under your control, on your device. For any question, write to [email protected].
